Abstract

CARVALHO, Margareth Maria Mendes. The turbulence and the ethics on Akira Kurosawa in a deleuzian perspective. Mental [online]. 2003, vol.1, n.1, pp. 55-69. ISSN 1679-4427.

This article is the result of an encounter of Akira Kurosawa's and Gilles Deleuze's works. In the text we try to pass the subjective quality of some characters from Kurosawa's cinema in confrontation with unexpected and turbulent situations. They are characters that don't react in an impulsive and unthinkable way, but that dive deep in the situation to colect new basis and new matters. And just after increasing their knowledge, they give an answer to the challenges of the situation; however, their reaction won't be any one, but a thinkable and ethic action. It's an invitation to reflect about the life's turbulences, and the necessity of dignity, thought and ethics to face them.

Keywords : Subjective quality; Turbulence; Question; Ethics; Liberty.
