The proposition of this research is to work with a psychological aspect of the cognitive function, of the memory of the first experiences after entering school. The subjects, students of a Psychology course in São Paulo, narrators of such experiences, rescued the living sources of information about school, which implied more directly on the enlargement of their conceptions about teaching and learning. Through the task of remembering and (re)valuing the first processes of learning, it was possible for the students to recognize the inter-relations between the individual and the collective on the construction of subjectivity, having social life as a context. The contribution of this work refers to the enlargement, in the case of future psychologists, of the vision and reach of knowledge in Psychology and the place it occupies not only the individual (psychological) but also collective aspects (historically situated symbolic values).
