Abstract

DUNKER, Christian Ingo Lenz. Hysterical madness and the psychosis. Mental [online]. 2005, vol.3, n.5, pp. 57-72. ISSN 1679-4427.

This article compares and analyses relations between the clinical presentation of the "hysterical madness", appearded in the XIX century, and the psychoanalitical conception about psychoses as studied by psychoanalisis. We try to demonstrate that "hysterical madness" is a sort of variant of the structural hysteria as it was described by Lacan. To undercover the clinical and diagnostical utility of this structure we take back the notion os madness in Lacan. Rsults sugest the non diferentiation betwen "hysterical madness" ans psychosis is major factor of risk to cronification and medicalization unwishfull and unnecessary.

Keywords : Hysteria; Psychosis; Madness; Psychoanalisis.
