Abstract

A prior study has described the profile of CAPS users in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. Some operational changes was consummate, like the groups formation, the elaboration of a standardized operacional procediment, the staff reunion, the sending of some patients to basic health services and the formulation of a diagnostic protocol. In this way, the study was replicated. The objective of this study was to compare the results of our date with the ones of the prior study and analyze the results of the changes. The results showed an increase on multidisciplinary visit, on the mean of visits per patients on the care for patients with severe and persistent disease and of those discharged from psychiatric centers. The conclusion is: the operational changes had positive effects in regard to adapting the center to national guidelines.
