Abstract

PASSOS, Maria Consuêlo. The constitution of loving bonds in the family in times of individualism. Mental [online]. 2007, vol.5, n.9, pp. 117-130. ISSN 1679-4427.

This article discusses the constitution of loving bonds in the family, as it emphasizes the transformations that have been occurring in this matter today. In times of an exacerbated individualism, one can notice that the I-other relations have become more and more utilitarian, something that affects parentality, and therefore, the subjectivation process of the children. In this context, the references are becoming more and more hazy and vulnerable, thus making the investments in the family more difficult. A more flexible view is also suggested in the text, in such a way that one can reflect upon the different forms of being a family beyond the patriarchal model.

Keywords : Family; Parentality; Loving bonds; Individualism; Subjectivation.
