Abstract

TOURINHO, Denise da Rocha. What is my place in the world?: Reflections about the role of psychoanalysis on the integral attention to mental disease patients in conflict with the Law. Mental [online]. 2010, vol.8, n.14, pp. 15-28. ISSN 1679-4427.

This article aims to encourage various sectors involved to think about building a new practice of attention to mental disturbed people in conflict with the Law. After evaluating the role of classical Psychiatry in the “institutionalization of madness” and the reform proposals, the article justify the operational integration of Psychoanalysis in interdisciplinary teams, based on its potential ability to structure the discourse of “patient justice”, to reset him subjectively and to works in the social deconstruction of myths. We recognize the need to support this proposal in intersectoral public policies. We conclude by presenting a government proposal which develops a synthesis between the theoretical concepts of psychoanalysis with the political-institutional network of Social Security
