Abstract

LIMA, Tulíola Almeida de Souza. The problem of the constitution of the body in psychosis: Antonin Artaud's testimony. Mental [online]. 2010, vol.8, n.15, pp. 215-234. ISSN 1679-4427.

This work deals with the constitution of the body and its relation with psychism. The analysis follows Lacan's perspective, stressing the relation of the subject with the element which allows the signification of its relation with its own body and also how the subject takes up a determined position from a social discourse. It also analyzes part of Antonin Artaud's production by which it is possible to collect his testimony on the difficulty of dealing with his body, which was aggravated due to his psychosis. Finally, an attempt is made to understand Artaud's need of establishing a new arrangement of his own body for himself and, at the same time, a new pact with language, through indications from Lacan's theory regarding psychosis.

Keywords : Psychosis; body; Artaud; psychoanalysis; testimony.
