Abstract

Freud brought important contributions to the understanding of psychoses when he showed, specifically on delusion, the operation of an inflated narcissism, whose function would be minimally protect the individual. Delusion would be an attempt from the I to preserve itself in front of a non-assimilable reality. Ordeal, the experience of a situation that checks the individual's structure, seems to exert a fundamental role, while it is a triggering factor of the individual's breakdown and delirious productions. This paper aimed at analyzing psychodynamically a case of schizophrenic psychosis, throughout psychoanalytic contributions.
