ZANETTI, Clovis Eduardo  e  SIMANKE, Richard Theisen. Clinic and critique in Freud's course from Neurology to Psychoanalysis. Mental [online]. 2011, vol.9, n.16, pp. 303-326. ISSN 1679-4427.

This paper aimed to reconstruct and analyse Freud's clinical and epistemological reflections which led him from Medicine to Psychoanalysis, starting from the differential clinical diagnosis between organic pathologies and neurotic diseases sketched in the article Hysteria (1888). Next, it approaches the critical examination of the neurological concept of representation in On Aphasia (1891), which opens a new field of investigation and sets the ground for a new concept of body from the perspective of its neuropsychological representation. These developments culminate in the 1893 essay on organic and hysterical paralyses in which theorizations on affect, language, and representation converge to account for the possibility of a psychical causality of somatic symptoms of hysteria.

Palavras-chave : Freud; hysteria; representation; body; language; affect.
