Abstract

MONTANARI, Atilio José  and  CARVALHO, Sandra Maciel de. The man, his psychosis, and stopped word. Mental [online]. 2011, vol.9, n.17, pp. 589-604. ISSN 1679-4427.

This article provides a discussion about demand, the possible establishment of transfer and its role on the treatment of psychosis, from observations of a psychologist who attended a patient at the Centro de Atenção Psicossocial (CAPS) from Cataguases, Brazil. Extracts of conversations and the history of this patient, who is referred by other CAPS, are used. Since the first meeting, he brings an immediate demand. After a short period, he returns to his home town, what makes impossible the continuity of the treatment. There is also, an intention to demonstrate the fleeting and unpredictable nature of the actions, as well as the used language.

Keywords : Psychosis; CAPS; mental health; psychoanalysis; transference.
