Abstract

THOMAZONI, Andresa Ribeiro  and  FONSECA, Tania Mara Galli. Possible meetings between art, madness and the creation. Mental [online]. 2011, vol.9, n.17, pp. 605-620. ISSN 1679-4427.

From the meeting between art and madness, more specifically, spaces that make the artistic production possible in the scope of mental health, we seek to question the psychiatric rationality in this context. We started doing a historical review of borders between art and madness, and the modulation of practices derived this meeting. Through problematization over the expressive powers that some bodies still possess, although psychiatrized, we search to support and proliferate a new look on devices that may value creation. As we understand such as that what is able to make possible the perseveration of the being, and the creative resistance to suffocation of vital forces.

Keywords : Art; madness; creation; resistance; expression.
