This article is derived from a master's research that aimed to question the notion of crisis that supports the Centers for Psychosocial Care (CAPS) work, through a study developed in a CAPS. It was made review about the topic, observation of the work routine and interviews with employees from CAPS. These interviews were recorded and submitted to content analysis, resulting in categories of analysis. They showed that there it a multiplicity of knowledge and notions coexisting, but a sense of crisis based on the medical clinic view prevails. The topic is assessed based on their behavior and does not give chance to other treatments that take into account subjective and intersubjective aspects.
