Abstract

RESENDE, Tania Inessa Martins de  and  FERNANDES, Henrique Campagnollo Dávila. Football as an exercise of coexistence between attenders of a CAPS and the community. Mental [online]. 2021, vol.13, n.23, pp. 79-101. ISSN 1679-4427.

In the field of psychosocial care, the practice of sports not only contributes to the improvement of the clinical condition, but also favors the development of processes involved in the psychiatric reform movement in our country. The present work refers to the theme of Mental Health care within the perspective of deinstitutionalization. The objective was to present the football workshop developed in a Psychosocial Care Center from the perspective of the Coexistence clinic. For that, the qualitative methodology was used, with ideas of the cartographic method, considering the engagement in the territory and the availability to the experience. Data were recorded through field diaries, which were evaluated through Content Analysis. Based on the theoretical reference of the Coexistence clinic and authors of the field of mental health, the following categories were reached: "deinstitutionalization: word of action for soccer", "soccer in CAPS: exercise of coexistence", and "possibilities of paths: relationship and reintegration into the community". The meetings of the group enabled diverse learning and contributed to the recovery process in mental health. It is important to point out the importance of organizing activities based on the perspective of Coexistence in mental health services, so that the deinstitutionalizing logic is concretely achieved in professional practices.
