Abstract

ROCHA, Matheus Barbosa da  and  XAVIER, Monalisa Pontes. Crossroads between psychological and religious discourses in mediatized society. Mental [online]. 2022, vol.14, n.25, pp. 1-18. ISSN 1679-4427.

The religious field acts in the media scene from an interest in cultural insertion, wide dissemination and by the emerging forms of social bonding with its audience, reconfiguring, from this entry, its operating logic. A similar process also unfolds with the psi discourses when they are inserted in the media environment. This work aimed to map the processes of miscegenation and dissolution of borders that are drawn between religious discourses and psi knowledge. We analyze eight episodes of the "Show da Fé" program and compare it with the psychological discourses circulating in the media. We can perceive that when these discourses are inserted in the logic of mediatization, religious practices are transformed into their canonical references, however, some elements remain, such as the government of souls and externalization of intimate content, characteristics that approach to psychology in the media environment.

Keywords : Religious Discourses; Psi Discourses; Pastoral Power; Society in the Process of Midiatization.
