The maltreatment of children and teenagers is the most severe forms of violence, both by the number of victims who do, as the negative consequence. This article reports the specific of negligence, the modality of child maltreatment most recurrent in several countries, including Brazil, however, has been poorly investigated, and many little known. This article attempts to expose the neglect definitions that may help your understanding, reports on the associated negative consequences from this type of abuse and show the need for interventions guidance to families so that the child receives care for proper development. This work intends to place the issue raised, aiming to raise greater scientific interest and discussion on the same.
