The main goal of this study is to discuss teenage father involvement in child care through the bioecological theory of human development. To achieve this, it was conducted a narrative literature review, organized according two guiding principles: (a) The bioecological theory of human development leading the understanding of parental involvement and (b) "Being a parent", involvement and participation in child care in adolescent parenthood. The first discusses the factors which can affect the parent-infant relationship and paternal participation in care practices offered to the child. The second discusses the factors that influence paternal involvement in infant care in the context of adolescent parenthood. It is of utmost importance to know the teenage parents, their personal characteristics, existing family patterns, life projects and how they constitute their social relations in different environments in which they participate.
