Among the assessment tools aimed at measuring the familiar well-being the Questionnaire on Resources and Stress - Short Form - QRS-F stands for directing to the evaluation of the stress of family caregivers of children with disabilities, chronic diseases or developmental disorders. This study aimed to systematize the cross-cultural adaptation of the QRS-F for Brazil. To this aim, four specialists in languages and six study professionals analyzed the questionnaire and 50 family caregivers answered the questionnaire, agreements with scientific procedures for the adaptation of instruments. The translated and arbitrated version of the QRS-F obtained high concordance rates in items for the analysis of content validity, and the results of semantic analysis inspired changes in the written form ofsome items. It is suggested the expansion of psychometric studies of the instrument in order to prove that other sources of important evidence of validity to secure the reliability of the QRS-F.
