Abstract

SCHUSSLER, Cristina  and  LOMANDO, Eduardo. Couple sexual negotiation. Pensando fam. [online]. 2019, vol.23, n.1, pp. 19-33. ISSN 1679-494X.

From the original proposition of the Couple Sexual Negotiation (CSN) concept, an alternative couple communication to compulsory monogamy on unique sexuality, the purpose of this article is to describe and evaluate the association between the NSC and the incidence of infidelity. The research was quantitative, exploratory and it tested association. An online survey method was used and 537 people who are/were in a relationship were assessed. Having sexual desire towards others besides partner was associated with infidelity, while expressing them to the partner and negotiate them in the relationship were not associated with infidelity. Being a woman, married and heterosexual were associated with not having sexual desire to wards other people and not to disclose them when felt. Being a non-heterosexual man was associated with expressing sexual desires towards others to partner. The five suggested processes of CSN (perception, exposure, negotiation, actions and impact) stated its possibility to be experienced.
