This study aimed to analyze the national publications between 2012 to August 2016 on coping strategies used by women who suffered some kind of domestic violence. The SciELO Brasil database was used - Scientific Electronic Library Online and PePSIC-Electronic Journals in Psychology. Thirty-five articles were recovered and the summary of these was completed with the completion of an evaluation form which considered the following criteria for inclusion: a) empirical article; b) presenting the use of data collection instruments C) that indicate coping strategies used by women who have suffered domestic violence, and 11 are read in full. The studies used the interview as an instrument, considered the victims as evaluating subjects and four articles involved the health professionals. The research evidenced that the victims who initially triggered individual resources as a coping strategy sought support networks to break through the cycle of violence.
