The contemporary family has the growing challenge to assimilate the presence of new technologies which takes more resources and space in parental relationships. The aim of the present study is to know the influence of technology in relationships between parents and adolescents. Therefore, an exploratory qualitative research was conducted. Data were collected through a structured interview and analyzed from the content analysis. This study revealed that technology presents positive and negative aspects, in parental relationships. The negative impacts are related to absence, especially affective. And the positive impacts indicate that technology approach parents and adolescents facilitating communication. Thus, technologies can be powerful instruments that approximate parental relationship.
