MONTEIRO, Bruna Nazaré Silva; COSTA, Amanda Cristina Ribeiro da; CRUZ, Edson Júnior Silva da  and  MAGALHAES, Celina Maria Colino. Institutionalized children: difficulties and possibilities for family reintegration. Pensando fam. [online]. 2020, vol.24, n.1, pp. 128-143. ISSN 1679-494X.

This article investigated the difficulties and possibilities in the family reintegration process of children from zero to seven years old who were admitted to an institution from June 2015 to July 2016, in Belém / PA. For the data collection, the child's characterization form and the family reintegration form were used, through documentary research. Data were quantitatively analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results indicate that there is an urgent need to produce studies that address reinsertion in order to contribute to the reflection of the practice of the host institutions and the improvement of public policies.

Keywords : Institutional reception; Kid; Family strategies; Family reinsertion.
