Abstract

SILVA, Ana Claudia Pinto da; CASSEL, Paula Argemi; PATIAS, Naiana Dapieve  and  ABAID, Josiane Lieberknecht Wathier. Parental education practice: impact of interventions on mothers' view. Pensando fam. [online]. 2020, vol.24, n.2, pp. 61-74. ISSN 1679-494X.

This study aimed to verify the mothers 'perception about the impact of a parental education group on their educational practices, and to evaluate caregivers' education standards in their relationship with their children. Five caregivers of children aged six to eight years participated in this study. The instruments used for data collection were an initial interview with families and a field diary. Content analysis was carried out and the main results indicate that, in general, there were significant changes in the parental management of mothers with their children after group interventions, according to their perceptions. It is concluded that the intervention of parental education was fundamental in this group, because it is within the family context that children learn to relate to other people and the world. Thus, working with caregivers is a way of modifying contingencies responsible for registering undesirable behaviors.
