Abstract

PINTO, Cintia Loos  and  CHRISTINO, Juliana Maria Magalhães. Violence against women: 44 years of research mapped from citespace and VOSviewer. Pensando fam. [online]. 2021, vol.25, n.2, pp. 159-175. ISSN 1679-494X.

This bibliometry aims to evaluate how research on violence against women has been developed. This type of violence usually happened with families already in formation and also deeply affected the families of the victims. 4,576 publications indexed in the Web of Science database during the period from 1975 to 2019 were analyzed using bibliometric software Citespace and VOSviewer. Among the five most productive authors, all of them are women, especially Raquel Jewkes. The United States stands out as the country that most contributed to the advancement of the subject in question, it is worth noting that Brazil was the fourth most productive country from its researchers at the University of São Paulo. Among the most frequent keywords used by the authors were violence against women, domestic violence and intimate partner violence and the study most cited by the articles evaluated was Garcia-Moreno (2006).
