Abstract

The obesity currently is considered by the World Health Organization (WHO), a problem of public health, had to the diverse illnesses associates to the weight increase, amongst them the diabetes mellitus, arterial high blood pressure and rheumatic illnesses. For beyond an aesthetic question, one became important to determine which the percentage of corporal fat is associated with a high morbid-mortality. Considered a chronic illness, with returns, of significant prevalence and power of morbid, the obesity is caused by diverse factors. To the psychologist an understanding is requested, concerning the emotional aspects associates to the weight increase, as well as to lose weigth process. The inclusion of the subjects in said "homogeneous" groups, as for example groups of patients with chronic illnesses it seems to occur through an identification around the illness. In the case of the obesity, the ideal of the group seems to structuralize itself around the ideal of the lean body and to the series of subsequent identifications. We will approach an experience of psychological attendance the groups of patients with obesity, bringing fragments of sessions to think group practical ours from theories and techniques based on the psychoanalytic psychotherapy.
