This work aimed to recognize the possibilities and limitations of a family support group for people diagnosed with anorexia e bulimia. Through the analysis of one of the group sessions, the negotiations among the participants about the group purposes, and the people that should participate in it, were identified. The dialogs engaged in this session proved the group as a social construction.
