Abstract

ALMEIDA, Carla Cristina de; COSTA, Giovana de Oliveira  and  GOMES, Kátia Varela. Secrets and family conflicts: a case study. Vínculo [online]. 2009, vol.6, n.1, pp. 88-99. ISSN 1806-2490.

The objective of this work is to present a case of Family Psychotherapy. We aim at discussing family secrets and conflicts present in this case dynamics and also the difficulties related to the brain paralysis of the couple. The meetings were held in the house of the family in a popular housing group in São Paulo, lasting around one hour and thirty minutes each, out of a total of eighteen meetings. Interns, the father, the mother and the daughter took part in the meetings. At first we investigated the family history, some conflicts and the questions concerning the relationship with the teenager daughter, mentioned as their main worry. Throughout the meetings the family conflicts related to some deficiencies - as family rejection, impossibility of autonomy, prejudice and the social invisibility - were revealed. We consider deeply important the family psychotherapy approach and the proposal of a setting change, making possible the participation of all family members and helping with the elaboration of the conflicts and the psychic sufferings.

Keywords : Family psychotherapy; Autonomy; Dependence; Deficiency; Psychic Transmission.
