PUGET, Janine. The technique theory: what, how, when, where, why, what for, a clinic for couples, family and groups. Vínculo [online]. 2009, vol.6, n.2, pp. 113-140. ISSN 1806-2490.

In this article some questions are made regarding the specificity of the psychoanalysis related to couples and families and the theoretical problems which arise from those areas of study. It is considered the difference between the meanings and the signs which depend on what is imposed by the present and which differentiates from what history, in other words, the past imposes. Historically, linking psychoanalysis started as a minor variant of psychoanalysis even though it was needed when obstacles to traditional analysis were found. Slowly, linking psychoanalysis ended up creating its own instruments. One difference between the singular subjectivity and the linking one has to do with what may succeed with another present tense or with what my emerge when one talks about another in his/her absence. In this work, a specific role is given to such concepts such as subjective constitution spaces, one other, sense of belonging towards a space, the space between two, the place of differences. This is how linear history and psychoanalytical determinism live with what is being produced in each meeting to the root of the presence effect which introduces the unpredictable. And this led to proposing the need to include a new regulating principle of links which includes the uncertainty such as the Principle of Uncertainty. Even so, in reference to the transferential field it seemed necessary to realise that in an analytical relation not only are activated childish and primitive scenes which manifest themselves in the transference but also what is produced between the linking therapy members: analyst and analyzed in an encounter effect to which we describe as interference.A few observations are made regarding the technique theory, reminding that it is frequent to recurr to old schemes to elude such difficulties which emerge from new situations. The analyst has the possibility to intervene in many different ways in a session, may it be describing, explaining, interpreting etc. And in every moment it will emerge how, what, when, where, what for and why, intervening. The article concludes by acknowledging the fragility of the subjective constitution world’s superposition.
