Abstract

PEREIRA, Maria Liliana Inês Emparan Martins  and  INGLEZ-MAZZARELLA, Tatiana. The school as a group space. Vínculo [online]. 2009, vol.6, n.2, pp. 191-198. ISSN 1806-2490.

This paper intends to discuss the importance of group configuration at the school institution. We part from the fact that school is a non familiar institution, with a large spectrum of relationship, which marks a radical difference between family group and school group. Although both family and school groups are characterized by a vertical and dissymmetric relation between adults and children, each classroom presents an experience of belonging to a horizontal and, in some ways, homogeneous group. Taking that consideration, we intend to show how important it is for the educator to realize that his/her pedagogic work relies on the group and, therefore, it is essential that he/she can manage group situation, so that the process of teaching and learning can be effective.
