Abstract

EMLIO, Solange Aparecida. The psychoanalytic discussion group as a device for learning and sharing. Vínculo [online]. 2010, vol.7, n.2, pp. 35-43. ISSN 1806-2490.

Psychoanalytic Discussion Groups are based on the Operative Groups and have as an explicit task the sharing of ideas among the participants on a democratic basis. As the discussion in a group is not exclusive of this approach, under the denomination "Discussion Group" one may find different foundations and practices and even the idea that it if there is a group and this group is holding a discussion, it may be called "Discussion Group ". On the other hand, we know that despite the explicit intention of learning from each other and the idea of sharing knowledge, not always the groups that intend to have a discussion, achieve their objective. The Psychoanalytic Discussion Group has characteristics which, if considered, may increase the effects of its use as a space for learning and exchanging. This paper aims to explore these features from a few scraps of the use of this group modality in different institutional settings such as schools, health institutions, communities, emphasizing the importance the coordinators preparation and presenting some differences among other group modalities, such as the reflexion groups, the focus groups and thematic ones.
