In this paper we present and discuss the work developed in a Center of Psychosocial Attention for users of alcohol and other drugs. The treatment is in a multi-professional out-patients structure, and it is conceived as an alternative to psychiatric hospitalizations, and its principles are the humanization of the treatment, the social reintegration and the exercise of citizenship and autonomy. We conclude that group links are the better allies of a successful treatment for drug-addicts.
