Abstract

FERNANDES, Waldemar José. Memory, desire and waiting. The group is not only a mirror room. Vínculo [online]. 2015, vol.12, n.2, pp. 01-08. ISSN 1806-2490.

The author reflects about the foulkesian view of the group as a mirror room. Then he describes the influence of personalities in the Meeting (Bion) and the concept of Interference between two or more others (Puget). The bionian proposal of the therapist being in the session without desire, without memory, allowing him/her to deal with the present, is emphasized. This study discusses a fragment of the group therapy session, enhancing the need of dealing with the unexpected. The necessity of respecting the internal and external uncertainty and of enhancing intuition in the linking task is fundamental. It ends by questioning the concept of mirror room that would have a more analogical value in the context of the relations with the object than as the proper meaningful analytical concept. It values the strength of the present in the group meeting, highlighting the importance to patients and therapists of not imprisoning to the memory, to desire and to the intellectual understanding.

Keywords : waiting; presentation; real group and projection in the group; no desire-memory-understanding.
