The scientific study of human groups is a powerful methodological tool increasingly needed in the daily lives of professionals working in the fields of Health, Education, Labor and institutions. The book "Groups: a psychoanalytic perspective", by Lazslo Antonio Avila, was the result of many years of study, research and practice of the author and also of the exchange of experiences and ideas with people from institutions dedicated to studying groups. At the book launch held in June / 16 in Sao Paulo, the author asked some of the professionals with whom he shares deep respect for group devices to help stimulate and coordinate a debate on the topics covered in the book. Both the initial presentations, as the answers and statements of the public were rescued and organized to compose this article.
