Abstract

MAIA, Edilberto Clairefont Dias. Como nossos pais: the function of identification in the construction of models. Vínculo [online]. 2017, vol.14, n.1, pp. 1-6. ISSN 1806-2490.

The author begins by transcribing a piece of music by the Brazilian singer Belchior, who says that "although we have done everything we have done, we are still the same and live as our parents", to emphasize the importance of identification, object of this work, because it will influence on what the subject will do with the inheritance of his ascendants. Identification marks the future of the subject. Through Winnicott's PaternoInfantile Theory, it shows that it is by the osmosis by the skin of that first bond with the mother that the first identifications occur, referring to the projective and introjective identification, and describes the three syntactic forms of identification described by Eiguer. The author ends by showing that despite all the changes imposed by postmodern society on the investment that parents will have with their babies, the values and laws imposed by the social environment in which they live will always be present. He concludes that "my pain is to realize that although we have done everything we have done, we are still the same and we live like our parents", from the song of the singer mentioned.
