Abstract

MANSO NETO, Isaura. Who's afraid of the therapeutic groups? Paradoxes and capital gains. Vínculo [online]. 2017, vol.14, n.2, pp. 01-17. ISSN 1806-2490.

The author reflected on the themes proposed by the Organizing Committee of the event and decided to address some aspects which she feels as strange factors in the theoretical and technical context of the Group Analytic Psychotherapy and the Group Psychotherapists. Isaura Neto focused essentially on considering some hypotheses for understanding paradoxical aspects inherent to group processes, which groups resist to use as effective therapeutic tools for those who seek help as well as for the technicians. The group analysts may themselves face the groups with some ambivalence, which makes them hesitate upon indicating small groups as equal forms of psychotherapy in dual context (analytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis). The author suggests some aspects of Group analysis/group Analytic Psychotherapy as excellent assets to foster exceptional conditions for character/personality analysis especially the ego syntonic and pathogens traits which are so difficult to analyze in the/a dual relationship. The author concludes with the emphasis on certain technical procedures that tend to make the Group analysis/group Analytic Psychotherapy extremely effective in the transformation of personality conducive to creativity, autonomy and freedom.

Keywords : Grupanálise; group analytical Psychotherapy; destructive phenomena in groups.
