The present study aims to highlight the role of the bond in the group scope as a possibility of transformation of the subject. It was used as a research method the bibliographic survey of scientific articles, considering as a database BVS/PEPsic and SciELO with the descriptors "group psychotherapy", "groups and psychoanalysis" and "bond and psychoanalysis" and also of authors who brought significant contributions of applied psychology to groups based on psychoanalytic theory. A clinical case was attended at the Psychotherapeutic Group of the Department of Mental Health of the Department of Pediatrics of the Federal University of São Paulo and from this theoretical-clinical connections were discussed between the conjectures of the group process, the establishment of new bonds and the work practice developed in this service. Considering the individual as a social being constituted, among other aspects, by his interrelationships, the group context provides an environment of mutual exchange between members, favoring transfer, identification and insight. With this, we observed significant changes in the patients inserted in this scope.
