The aim of this study was to investigate the epistemological bias that makes up the ideological reasoning of the professional psychologist with the multidisciplinary team and the pregnant woman, and how this perception affects the quality of care for complaints of anxiety and psychosomatic symptoms during prenatal care, in a Family Health Facility in the Brazilian Midwest. Participants: 8 pregnant women and 4 health professionals. Method: action research. Instruments: scripts for semi-directed interviews. Results and Discussion: The analysis of interviews and interrelations of the participants' speeches indicated that there are flaws in therapeutic care at the municipal health service. The pregnant women miss the listening to their psychological and somatic complaints, without effectively discriminating the symptom's etiology. The low frequency of the obstetrician surgeon in the shared consultation groups, gives evidence of fragility of the multidisciplinary team. The goal of humanizing care for pregnant women is partially achieved. Further studies should be done in order to give dynamism to the service of the clinical team and facilitate the access of pregnant women to the necessary specialized care.
