IZIDORO, Isabela Rocha; PEREIRA, Veronica Aparecida  e  RODRIGUES, Olga Maria Piazentin Rolim. Secondary attachment processes and child development. Vínculo [online]. 2020, vol.17, n.2, pp. 67-93. ISSN 1806-2490.  http://dx.doi.org/10.32467/issn.19982-1492v17n2p67-93.

Scientific literature points out t several studies on primary bonding, but little is known about secondary bonding, when babies come to be cared by others. Therefore, it was sought to evaluate the bonding between educators and babies and its relationship with child development. Nine babies and two educators from two child education centers participated. Development evaluation was performed with Bayley-III Scale protocol in the areas of Cognition, Language and Motor skills at nine and twelve months. The bonding process was evaluated using the experimental model Face-to-Face StillFace at nine months and the Codification of Mother-Child Interaction System Revised at twelve months. Babies development, in both moments, kept in or above the expected. At nine and twelve months the babies showed good bonding with the educator, but, at twelve they showed exploration and self-regulatory behaviors, even when educators tried to interact. It is suggested that secondary bonding may be established differently, with advances for mobility and autonomy.
