This paper aims to present Brusset's (2006) ideas on the third topic in the field of psychoanalysis. These ideas were formally presented at the 66th French Language Psychoanalysis Congress (Lisbon, 2006) and generated the Brusset's Papers. Next, I will present Kaës's (2015) proposal on the need for the expansion of epistemological concepts such as the unconscious and its "polytopia". This idea was rescued from Pichon-Rivière in 1965. Kaës clarifies that it is necessary not only a third topic, but a metapsychology of the third kind that allows us to work in other spaces of unconscious psychic reality with its complexity of mutual interference. Psychoanalysts have used other devices of clinical practice such as groups, couples and families. These new devices allow us to access the unconscious in another way and elsewhere.
