Abstract

New technologies of communication and information have been developed in high speed, opening a great variety of object that must be profoundly analyzed under both its communicative aspects and its configuration while space of production of sense. The microcomputer, the CD-ROM, the fax machine, videoconference nets, internet, electronic games, among other recreate ways of exchange of contents, constituting new manners of mediation for the traditional formats (printed matter, television, radio, etc). In this work it was analyzed one of these formats, to know: the Electronic Games. Developed initially as a project of television redefinition, these objects had been gaining proper contours when incorporate itself other technologies and projects, such as: the formation of a new model of "interactive cinema" and of "personal computer". A historical mapping of the formation and consolidation processes of this format was established here, pointing genealogically the questions of this technology and the tensions that act on it for the consolidation of a space of sense production. © Ciências & Cognição 2004; Vol. 03: 04-09.
