Abstract

FRANCISCO FORTUNATO BATISTELLA, Andréia; PAGANINI DA SILVA, Eliane  and  RAIMUNDO GOMES, Ligiane. The notion of life in Brazilian children in 2004 in comparison to the ones of Geneva in 1926. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2005, vol.4, pp. 61-72. ISSN 1806-5821.

This study had as objective to compare data of a study achieved by Jean Piaget with genevans children in 1926, with Brazilian children in 2004. We leaved of the hypothesis that the notions of life in genevans children are the same ones in the Brazilian children, and that the notion of life in Brazilian children and gernevans obeys the same psychogenetic evolution. We used as method the interview and the clinical analysis with basis in an established route of interviews considering the questions achieved by Piaget in his study. For the present sample, nine 8 to 13 year old were selected. Piaget found four levels in notion of life development in genevans children and in the Brazilian context in 2004, the children studied by us presented the same evolutionary levels. Therefore, we can notice that the notion of life obeys a fixed sequence in the child's intellectual development, as well discovered Piaget in his researches.
