This paper is a bibliographical review of relevant researches that have been accomplished in England and in the United States, from the 1990's, about the cognitive development of the people with Syndrome of Down and the impacts that the results of these researches can have on its learning process both concerning at the elaboration of resources and educational methodologies and at the understanding of the singularities of this process. In our comprehension this review is necessary, therefore several conceptions related to the cognitive development of the person with Syndrome of Down are stereotyped arising distorted perspectives of attention to this.
