The aim of this essay is to discuss the concept of myth explored by Jung, in the context of the analytical psychology. In this way, it was produced an analysis applying this concept in relation to the representation of "stars" movies. Besides, it is explored the fact that movie stars are turned in myth by the human psychic needs to project contents of his individual unconscious in an unconscious collective context of legitimation. © Ciências & Cognição 2006; Vol. 07: 68-80.
