Abstract In the São Paulo state publish schools are established an intricate situation concerning with the fundamental science education content acquisition. The pivotal aims of this work are to indicate proposal for this problem, and to discuss about the importance to known the historical and cultural approaches related to science lessons elaboration. Many of teachers, where work at the school analyzed, and that work with this modality of education, have no knowledge about this type of approach. It is this unknowledge thqt limits the pedagogical actions and the correct interventions of these professionals. This work also possess reports and practical orientations that aim to diminish the difficultiespresented above, as well as argue over Historic Cultural Approach and its importance for education-learning process. © Ciências & Cognição 2006; Vol. 08: 02-09.
