Abstract

PEREIRA, Ivo Studart. I, robot and strong artificial intelligence: man between mind and machine. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2006, vol.9, pp. 150-157. ISSN 1806-5821.

The present work aimed to develop discussions concerning some subjects on Philosophy of Mind field, using the movie I, Robot as an eloquent example of the Mind-machine problem. Such questions have raised serious anthropological reflections, in which characteristics taken as "typically human" are always present. As a conclusion, there's an attempt to articulate some relevant events throughout the movie story with the logical problems raised by the possibility of Strong Artificial Intelligence. The defended idea is that human language presents series of intrinsic trammels that impede the developing of an artificial programming language based on it. © Ciências & Cognição 2006; Vol. 09: xxx-xxx.
