Abstract Inside the digital design field, the main object is the hypermedia, which characterizes itself by organizing texts, sounds, moving or static images, numeric data and so, in the form of dynamic interactive nets, constantly changing their connections. The principle of multiplicity is the focus of the research, consisting in identifying the occurrence of the desterritorialization, translation and actualization processes of virtual potencies from the analysis of hypermedia structures and functioning, as well as its cognitive range. © Ciências & Cognição 2007; Vol. 10: 38-45.
