Abstract We have analyzed in this article the significance of traverse axes in the university curriculum and their implications in the undergraduate student's integral formation, since their global and integrative dynamic of learning. In this way, we also carry out an exhaustive analysis about the conceptions of strategies necessary to promote their realization, as well as about some difficulties expressed during the insertion of the Right Career administered in the "Universidad Nacional Experimental de los Llanos Occidentales Ezequiel Zamora". Finally, we emphasize the traverse axes as a topic that emerge from the necessities of ínter- and extra-university context, from their most important actors that should be exposed during the undergraduate student formative process, showing some results that revealed the teachers and students attitude front of the traverse axes. © Ciências & Cognição 2007; Vol. 10: 132-146.
