Abstract

MENDES PESSOA PULLIN, Elsa Maria. Study reading: strategies recognized as the most used by university students. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2007, vol.12, pp. 51-61. ISSN 1806-5821.

The objective of this study was investigating the reading strategies for study texts most frequently used among future teachers: two licentiates' undergraduates and one graduate taking a master degree in education. The Reading Strategies Scale, adapted by Kopke Filho (2001), was the instrument used. Results indicate the use of similar strategies among participants. The importance of knowing the possible ways of reading study texts, especially for teachers when prescribing readings is discussed, including the one relative to metacognition about those practices for the readers. © Ciências & Cognição 2007; Vol. 12: ??-??.
