TAVARES, Romero. Constructing concept maps. Ciênc. cogn. [online]. 2007, vol.12, pp. 72-85. ISSN 1806-5821.
A concept map is a schematic framework that represents a group of concepts immersed in a web of propositions. It is considered as a structure maker of knowledge, as it permits to show how knowledge about a topic is organized in the cognitive structure of his author, that can visualize and analyze its deep and extension. It can be seen as a visual representation used to share meanings, because it makes evident how the author understands the relations among the mentioned concepts. The concept map is strongly supported theoretically by the meaningful theory of David Ausubel that says the human being organize their knowledge in a hierarchical way. © Ciências & Cognição 2007; Vol. 12: ??-??.
