Conceptual maps are proposed as a strategy potentially useful to facilitate meaningful learning. This paper reports a research carried through three groups of undergraduate students, in which could be observed a positive interference with the use of conceptual maps as a motivational strategy in the organic chemical teaching. © Ciências & Cognição 2007; Vol. 12: 86-95.
