Abstract

The aim of the present paper was to present the relations between the Cognitive Science Area and the Computer Science Area, making a parallel between their conceptions. Historical aspects of each science were approached, as well as their implications, censures and definitions. It was identified evidences of a great search on the processes of the mind in both knowledge areas, creating a correlation of views, in which the mind follows the functioning of a computer and the computer recreates mind's functions. In this context, the Cognitive Science, intends to find a unificated Cognition theory, putting all the knowledge areas together around mind's study. © Ciências & Cognição 2007; Vol. 12: ??-??.
